As with many forums, this forum makes use of a currency system in order to regulate things within it. REC provides you with currency, known very simply as 'money', per RP post that you make and substantial posts you make in the Feedback section. Non-substantial feedback or spam will be deleted so don't try to cheat the system by posting stupid stuff. For every RP topic you start you'll receive $25, and for every post you'll receive $10. For every Feedback topic you'll receive $10, and for every post in a feedback topic you'll receive $5. Remember, these have to be substantial posts not just 'Wow, good idea guy.'

For every day you're a member of our forum you'll receive $50 as well, though if you are absent for more than a week without an explanation you will be docked the money you earned from those days, regardless of the reason given upon your return. The forum isn't designed to reward an absence, so we trust you're mature enough to understand that, even if your computer crashed or your grandmother died, if its not excused then you won't receive payment.

So naturally being active in your posting will net your more funds then not doing anything, but there are other ways to obtain funds. You can undertake missions in order to gain new funds, as well as gain other benefits from missions, which are detailed in the Mission Guide. Or you can involve yourself in the community's economic system by creating equipment via the custom sections and selling copies of your custom equipment to others, by selling services such as body guarding or weapon upgrades, trading, or simply giving and receiving things.

All transactions must be done through an RP topic however, so you can't just trade with anybody. A STARS member isn't just going to trade openly with an Umbrella researcher, so the RP rule exists to ensure realistic trading. Secret alliances or trades can exist, but again, they have to be realistic. No sane person would trade a sample of the T-Virus for a handgun, for example, and anyone caught acting against character or sense will be have their topic locked and the trade halted. Repeated abuses will lead to loss of the right to trade period.

Concerning customs, once approved, they still have to be bought, and from that point you could easily sell them off to another person, though you'd have to find someone who wants to buy whatever you're selling. The same rules about logical trading apply here as well and they also have to be traded in-RP like everything else. The only exception to the in-RP rule is if a group leader wants to give out things they've purchased to certain ranks below themselves for free. This has to be logical however, no handing out AK-47's to the grunts because you felt like it, that would cause some serious inter-office problems...
